Over the decades, outclass geniuses like Albert Einstein have also been notoriously known for their messy workspaces. There are also many others innovative people who have been successful, regardless of their workspace being clean or messy, but that does not mean this is the only way to go, according to different studies, there are many drawbacks of having an unorganized workspace.

Let’s take a current scenario of COVID-19 season, most of us are prohibited to have a gathering in any sort, so as per rules we are currently doing all of our work from home and it is essential to have an office like setup at home, for that purpose a desk & chair and a dedicated room is needed to create that office like workspace at home.

Impact on Our Performance

The desk at your workspace, where you do most of your work from home actually defines the capability of how well you do and has a really great impact on your productivity as it may energize you or deplete all of your energy while doing any task.

I am sharing here my own genuine experience which I had back when this work from home thing started.

The figure above shows the condition of my workspace when I started a work from home thing and I haven’t realized at that time the actual importance or impact of organized workspace on our performance or productivity.

After getting this unique project, Fixing Stuff Around Yourself I tried to make my desk as much organized as I can and it results in actually increasing my productivity, my critical thinking, my focus on work and now I’m experiencing very much low stresses while doing my routine tasks.

Tips on Keeping Workspace Organized & Clean

I’ll share some tips that will surely help out you to organize your workspace and as I mentioned above it has a several benefits

1. Put a junk tray alongside your desk in order to get rid of purpose-less things.

2. Put those things out that are essential for your work.

3. Create a designated space or storage for daily office tools.

4. Label your storages or you can have a color coding on files & folders.

5. Disinfect and clean your computer accessories daily which keeps you fresh & healthy.

It is the fact that some days are really hectic that you might not have enough time to tidy things up but try to do it at least a week in those days.

Conclusion

Your workspace says a lot about your personality and business. Maybe your turn always seems messy and cluttered because you’re writing your next research paper.

Recent research at the University of Minnesota shows that personnel with unorganized workspaces are more innovative and productive with brilliant ideas than those with disorganized workspaces, but that doesn’t mean you have to have that mess on your desk to launch these innovative results quickly.

A messy table will only stress you out if you are fastidious about everything tidy. Being too stressed can reduce your productivity, make it difficult perform task well.

The object of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel the happiness within that environment.
